It’s hard not to feel emotional when we see abandoned and stray dogs, but the reality is that not all dog mothers have the same level of courage, dedication, and love for their puppies as Si Bao does.
The poor dog was abandoned by its owner and sadly, it met with a terrible accident. As a result, its hind legs were badly hurt by a train that passed by. This unfortunate incident left the dog feeling hopeless. However, things took a turn for the better when Si Bao gave birth to four cute and healthy pups. These little ones became her sole reason for pushing through her difficulties.
Becoming a parent has brought back the happiness in Si Bao’s life. She has taken on a strong and unwavering mindset when it comes to caring for her kids, always watching over them and walking around on two legs.
Si Bao’s good luck has persisted thanks to the aid of Animals Asia, a philanthropic group established by Jill Robinson. The brave mother dog and her offspring were saved by the organization, and Si Bao was appointed as an animal ambassador. The organization’s main office is now his new home where he and his surviving pup, Muddie, can begin anew instead of searching for food near railway tracks.
Furthermore, the decision has been made to rename Si Bao as Lelly. The group is currently exploring options to equip her with prosthetic legs that have wheels for better movement. Unfortunately, among the four puppies saved with Lelly, three succumbed to a high fever and only Muddie managed to survive.
Lelly is currently relishing in the lavish perks of being an ambassador for Animals in Asia.
Although Lelly may be petite in stature, her tenacious spirit remains unyielding in the face of challenges.
