These plants produce clusters of flowers that resemble berries before opening up into small star-shaped blooms in a variety of colors, including red, burgundy, orange, peach, pink, and white. One species, Hypericum perforatum, is often used in herbal medicine to alleviate symptoms of depression. The plants are found all over the world and typically bloom in the summer.
